Identification points
- The sympathetic neurons are multipolar neurons with eccentric nuclei, and binucleated cells.
- The satellite cells surround the multipolar neurons
- Unmyelinated and myelinated nerve axons aggregate into bundles and course through the sympathetic ganglion
- The flattened nuclei on the peripheries of the myelinated axons are the neurolemmocytes (Schwann cells).
- These nerve fibers represent the preganglionic axons, postganglionic visceral efferent axons, and visceral afferent axons
